Survivors of the Dawn is a run-based roguelike bullet heaven where you create strategic weapon and item synergies to survive the ceaseless hordes. Remember, every step back is a step towards a whole new strategy. The dawn bubbles with all the mobs but nothing beats outwitting them after a drenching run. Slaughter your way through marauder mobs. Prepare for an interstellar showdown as the space bounty hunter, where marauder hordes stand between you and the elusive bounties. Level up your bullets, stack your items, and survive at dawn the stronger the sooner. Create laser-sharp bullet synergies, level them up, then max out the weapon classes for unexpected bonus skills. Navigate the extreme, pedal-to-the-metal progression surviving through the total chaos. Start as a bounty hunter with a gun and end at a laser spectacle. You will die a lot. And die more again. Surround the marauders with your bullet rain as they circle around you. Oh wait… don’t leave before you get your bounties. Travel through interstellar yet still be done in time for dinner.
Face the boundless replayability of a roguelike and the adrenaline pumping threat of permadeath. Ever since the playtest phase, I’ve been lovingly playing and keeping tabs on this game. The final version of the game truly took me by surprise. It has evolved so much since I first played it. It’s a delightful and enjoyable game to unwind with while listening to music. I will start with the positives. The implementation of the map objectives is one of the best I’ve seen in bullet heaven games. They make sense, give proper rewards, and are fun to seek and complete. I liked the map objectives and found them pretty diverse at least for early access. The game just has a great atmosphere. There aren’t many heavily 3D bullet heaven games out there, and Survivors of the Dawn has one of the best graphics in that small set of games.

Except for the above two paragraphs, I find it difficult to leave positive comments about the remaining systems of the game. You can experience what the game has to offer in less than 45 minutes if you are at least an average player. The game currently is pretty repetitive in terms of its content in early access. I liked both the music and the sound effects, but the audio implementation seems way off. Compared to other games in the same genre, the territory capture mechanic makes travelling around the map very enjoyable and unique. The game just has a great atmosphere. There aren’t many heavily 3D bullet heaven games out there, and Survivors of the Dawn has one of the best graphics in that small set of games.
