The creators of Logicality and Puzzle Park, SVGames, have released a new puzzler called Syllogism. Despite my distaste with their previous DOORS games, I have been thoroughly enjoying these last three releases. The six distinct sections and comparable puzzle mechanisms of this new release are reminiscent to Logicality. These pillars may be turned into eight different positions. Six tasks in one location need you to correctly arrange four pillars. Environmental cues are used to set pillars; some are instantly apparent, while others are less so.
The next puzzle in the area can be accessed when each puzzle has been solved. A final achievement is obtained for completing the game, while other achievements are awarded for completing certain areas. For an extra achievement, there are 20 stars to locate—some of which are extremely well hidden and others of which need a puzzle solution. Certain riddles can be skipped by using stars (5 stars to skip 1 puzzle). You don’t need to retry the game once you’ve finished it to go back and look for stars. This new release is similar to Logicality, in terms of having six diverse areas with similar puzzle mechanics.Here, you have pillars that can be rotated to 8 positions. An area has 6 puzzles that each require you to set 4 pillars correctly. Pillars are set according to environmental clues (some immediately obvious and some not-so-much). Each puzzle solved activates access to the next puzzle in the area.

Achievements are granted for completing an area and then a final achievement is earned for finishing the game. The game auto-saves on exit. All progress is retained but you are always returned to the entry point of the game (which is a good thing if you jumped into an area that has no exit!). If you quit in the middle of a puzzle, you will need to restart that specific puzzle when you return. I enjoyed Syllogism very much. It is relaxing and made me do some serious thinking. In the absence of published guides, I did not have the option of being lazy! There was only one puzzle that I ended up brute-forcing… the rest were solvable as long as I was paying attention and examining the local environment. Solutions/clues are contained within or very close to each puzzle so, with the exception of hunting stars, there is no endless wandering required.
