Gather rumours from the tavern-goers and use them to create quests for your adventurous guests. Piece together the fragments in your little study and uncover the secrets of an ancient evil threatening the land. As adventurers return from their mighty quests, they’ll bring back trinkets you can use to decorate your tavern. Your choices shape the snug interior of the Wayfarer’s Inn! Like in every good Pen & Paper campaign, Tavern Talk touches topics that may hit right in the feels. Please be aware that there will be mentions of death, grief and violence. I really enjoyed Coffee Talk and was excited to see this new game, but in my opinion Coffee Talk is better than Tavern Talk. The main reason is that in Coffee Talk you could use your creativity to create drinks and have fun discovering new ones. In Tavern Talk you can’t. You have to follow the recipe and if you don’t you just get an error. You can’t create drinks outside of the story either.
Tavern Talk Direct Play:
This game however managed to capture my attention. It truly is something special from the perspective of someone who doesn’t normally enjoy these games, I can’t exactly pin it to one specific attribute, but if you are one of these kinds of people that think they don’t like it, I implore you to try it out. I have been looking forward to this game ever since I learnt they were collaborating with Monster Prom, since then I have been in excited anticipation for it. Upon release I can safely say this is a very fun game with a lot of charm to it. It is highly reminiscent of the Coffee Talk series and features excellent storytelling on a similar level. Never seen another game like it except maybe Coffee Talk, which I considered buying but didn’t. The atmosphere of this one seems a lot more appealing to me, I guess i just like fantasy stories and the devs put a lot of heart into it.
