The Big Con Direct Play:
The story is alright. Ali comes to find out that her mother’s video store is being foreclosed upon by a sleazy businessman, and, after meeting another sleazy fella, decides to hitchhike across the country lifting wallets until she gets to score big. The story is reminiscent of a kid’s or teen’s movie from the 90’s, kind of like one of those Disney Channel Original Movies, and I think that’s the vibe Mighty Yell was going for making this game. The story isn’t going to blow your mind, but that’s not what this game was aiming for to begin with.
The Big Con is not without its flaws, some minor, some major. Obviously, since the story is a simple one, story lovers may not get their fill from this game. The Big Con is probably most defined as a adventure game, mostly just walking around and quick time events, so gameplay lovers aren’t going to be mindblown by this game.
