The Cleaner is a hardcore die ‘n’ retry inspired by John Wick, Hotline Miami and SuperHot. You control a highly-trained ” cleaner ” with a unique power. No cliché storyline, no cutscenes, start the game and play. Die, and don’t be afraid to die. The Cleaner will put you through a challenge. One bullet is enough to kill you, so use your power of slowing down time to kill your ennemies. My original review came out prior to the brightness patch, enemies are now clearly visible in almost every situation, I have run into a few small bugs and flaws but none of them have detracted from my gameplay, I’d definitely suggest snagging this even if solely because it’s a pretty interesting concept! I’m having a lot more fun with it now! Snag it, it’s relatively inexpensive and even if you end up not enjoying it you’re supporting a smaller dev that’s doing a passion project, and it shows!
As of right now I find it difficult to recommend this game, I enjoy it as it is, but there are certainly a lot of flaws that made it a bit more difficult to enjoy fully, as of right now I do not recommend this game, but should some of the things I see as flaws get fixed I’d be happy to change that. I was always excited when i finished a level not for finishing it after dying over and over again but seeing what the next level will be. Ready or Not offers decent replay value through its variety of missions and objectives. Each playthrough can be approached differently, allowing players to experiment with different strategies and tactics. Additionally, the game’s multiplayer mode offers opportunities for engaging cooperative gameplay.
The Cleaner Direct Play:
The downside is the current level of content. The roguelite elements for the campaign are fine, but I beat it in under two hours without purchasing any upgrades. Considering the lack of gameplay modifications such as classes that other roguelite games can incorporate, there is limited replayability of this game as a roguelite even if they add more content to the mode. This is why the game absolutely needs a franchise mode, and in my opinion, it will not be complete until this is added. A franchise mode incorporated well would make this game, at the very least, one of the best hockey games of all time.
