Timejinx (Trivia): In Timejinx, you’re a time traveler from the future competing in a high-stakes trivia night. Save your current timeline by answering questions about the past. Dodo Re Mi (Music, Teamwork): In Dodo Re Mi, your phone is your instrument. You and your flock must make music together to escape the hungry jungle plant. Actually pretty impressed with how well this works, I was skeptical a game like this would be possible with the input lag inherent to using phones. But the 4-3-2-1-tap-tap-tap sync system works well and actually feels really fun and satisfying. The amount of instruments you can pick for each song is massive, and full of hilarious choices like screaming that feel very in Jackbox’s wheelhouse. We loved that everybody could pick a difficulty that suits them. My only critique here is that the presentation of the band members takes way too long and I wish I could skip it. The playback itself is fun to watch but having to watch it after a long presentation drags it out a bit. But still, very impressed with this one, and it’s quite beautiful as well.

Almost tied with DodoReMi, our group generally loved this one. We’re the type that tends to get a little high and riff on jokes. I feel like this one would not be as good with coworkers or family, since most of the funniest bits involved typos and profanity, but it made us laugh a lot. I do think it’d be better if it were only 2 rounds rather than 3 though. The inability to use backspace was a brilliant choice that made for some of the funniest moments. Presentationally, this was our favorite game of the whole pack, the graphics and aesthetic are beautiful and we repeatedly commented on it. We still enjoyed this one but it was a drop off from the last one. I wish that they’d sometimes go for much larger date ranges to pick from. Guessing the exact year feels pretty hard. But there was enough going on and enough new modes/suprises to keep this one pretty fun, and it’s nice to have a more cerebral trivia experience in here. Less of the jackbox-style humor than other trivia outings, but still a good time.
