You’ll explore across the hillside to visit ancient palace ruins, tend to a garden with bought and foraged seeds, take on projects to help your neighbors and earn money, all while learning about the community’s history, Indian recipes, and the natural environment. With Vir being an artist, you’ll use what you encounter to fill your journal with a puzzle-based sketching and painting mechanic. The game has a beautiful and warm handcrafted feel from its watercolor art style and cozy gameplay, coming across as a love letter to Indian art, history and stories. Vibrant hand-painted watercolour graphics. Foraging is lovely; plants recover quickly enough to feed your needs without becoming so common as to be dull. Names and types of plants are India-specific, and help build the world. are priced similarly as seeds and sell for similar amounts once harvested, so there’s no real depth to the system, but the plant animations are quite nice.
Hand pumping your farm’s well for water is a drag, but that’s intentional, and it also helps build the world. This is a nice, calming SOL that feels very healing. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something cozy to play. Peak iyashikei vibes as it were. I very much enjoyed playing it and look forward too ore from this studio. Some plants can be used for medicine; others for food; others for building. And you can grab clay with which to make cooking vessels, as well. It ended too abruptly though and I had quite a few undiscovered recipes when it ended. It felt very unsatisfying. Later parts of the game felt a bit unpolished – Quest names not formatted properly, sketches didn’t have any descriptions, watering can upgrade that can only be purchased once. Most of the ingredients farmed and collected. Over 25 regionally & culturally diverse cast of characters to interact. A heartfelt story of ambition, struggle, and friendship told from the perspective of a young boy in fictional 90s rural India. Explore ancient palace ruins, set up your garden, cook Indian food, run errands for quirky characters, and learn about your history by making art. It’s short and sweet, a little idyllic snapshot of rural India and its culture and history. I especially love the paintings in it. The setting is lovely, with characters that feel like they belong in this community together and don’t revolve around the main character. I became an expert tea-slinger and had a thriving farm by the end. The ending was a little abrupt in my opinion, but overall, it was a nice little experience and I do like seeing the Indian representation in these sort of games. learning about the culture and traditions that shape the lives of the main character and his friends. Good narration and plot.
