This & Cats Direct Download
Manage a shop in a small town while adopting and finding new homes for cats. Satisfy customers and rescue cats to earn money and rank up so that you can unlock new cats and improve your reputation. Start by collecting black & white cats and work you way up to the mythical Prismatic Kittens and Uranium Cats! I really enjoyed this game – it’s really cute and relaxing. I love that you can name the cats in your store and that each day when you pet them it says ‘(Name) loves you’. It’s a really nice touch. If you’re looking for something casual and adorable to boot then you should get this game the graphics and music just add to the relaxing experience. Sadly there are still two things missing that I thought the original was missing as well. First off: Multiplayer. This was a big one that I know a lot of people were hoping was going to happen but at the moment this seems to big a big no. I would love to have the ability to have even just one extra person to help around the ranch while I am exploring the beautiful landscapes this game already has. Second: VR support. Yes, the first game had a small vr like playground but it wasn’t the vr experience we were hoping for in the terms of Slime Rancher. The inability to actually be on the farm and play the game was rather saddening to the point I never really played the small dlc. I’d like something more fledged out in this sense if possible even if it is only available for the first game. I want to be able to suck up slimes and feed them with the vac, as well as the rest of the rancher experience while in VR.
Before I get into the review proper, let me just get the obvious disclaimer out of the way; yes, at the time of writing this review this is an early access game, and there are occasional bugs here and there if you get unlucky. Furthermore, certain core features, such as multiplayer, are currently missing but confirmed to be coming in the future. I can only speak from my own experience and I personally find the game polished enough as is to feel comfortable writing and posting this review. So yeah, moving along! Anyone who knows me knows just how much I love Disney and how much it means to me. I will fully admit there is an element of bias when it comes to my love for this game because its mere existence is literally a dream come true for me. Regardless of the IP, though, this is still the most complete life sim I’ve ever played.
This & Cats Pre-Installed:
If I were to compare it to any other game or franchise for reference, the most obvious one would be Animal Crossing, which I’m sure the devs love and have clearly drawn inspiration from. I personally think Dreamlight Valley is in a league of its own, though. It just kind of has it all — a main story, individual arcs and quest lines for each and every character, as well as multiple progression systems. And that’s without counting all the life sim elements such as collections, decoration, and a massive amount of QoL that most other games in the genre straight up don’t have.
