About The Game
Time Loader is a story-driven, physics-based puzzle platformer with a twist. At the helm of a small robot, you’ll travel back to the 90s to prevent a tragic accident. Explore the house of your creator, solve brain-teasing puzzles, acquire unique and powerful upgrades, and see common household items from an entirely new perspective! But remember: meddling with time has serious consequences. You may succeed in changing the past, but can you deal with the result of your actions? Subverted perspectives Even the most familiar objects look different when you’re the size of a toy car. Will you watch your every move or dive head-first into this dangerous new world? An arsenal to choose from Boosters, harpoons, screwdrivers… choose among dozens of upgrades to tackle each level and get the job done! A little remote controlled vehicle with a grabbing arm is put into a microwave-sized time-machine and transfered back in the year 1995. Your goal now is to destroy a toy, before an accident can happen.
Of course, manipulating the past leads to other unexpected changes… So you drive left or right, jump, grab stuff, throw it (aim with right stick) and solve the problems that the game narrator tells you to solve. Everything plays in a 2D world, which is a bit stupid sometimes. Why solve intricate puzzles to overcome an obstacle, if I could just drive around it in 3D? Apart from that, it is a nice puzzler. Find your way through a house with a little robot (basically, just 2 wheels and a grabber). I encountered a serious bug during gameplay, though. After some time the stupid robot grabbing arm just didn’t work any more. Or so I thought. The problem is the buggy joystick implementation (still in version 1.04), that leads to the grabber not working – or even worse – stopping to work during the game. Fortunately, there is an easy fix for this: Just disable Steam Input, and it works.
it’s a nice game, a bit short, but what really was pissing me off is when you use the grapling hook trying to escape the cat, using a controller is really frustrating, there is no aid trajectory and somehow the range is shorter than when you use the grapling hook with the mouse. i think it’s some kind of bug. it took me almost 40 minutes to just escape from the cat in the treehouse at the end of the game… until i used the mouse instead of the controller, and figured out it was much easier and with fewer glitches.
