thrilled that Ubisoft has finally brought Pandora Tomorrow to Steam! This might be helping Netflix’s release of the Splinter Cell TV series, but whatever the reason, I’m happy to replay the first Splinter Cell game I ever played. I’ve completed 2 missions so far, it runs smoothly on Windows 11. There’s a minor glitch with the resolution, it keeps reverting to 480p every time I try to change it, but the graphics are acceptable for a 2004 game. The default key bindings feel a bit unconventional: E for zoom instead of right click, Shift to jump, Space to open doors… It took some getting used to, but it works. The actions are well-crafted, from switching sides while taking cover, to wall jumps, to climbing pipes to move up, down or between buildings. Sam can even pull himself up on a pipe and shoot while hanging upside down. The stealth mechanics are widely used: if you remain in the shadows, enemies can walk right past you without noticing. You can choose to sneak by, or grab them for a takedown or interrogate for info.
