Troma Presents Poultrygeist for those who truly want to unravel a strange dispute and put an end to the fear engulfing a city, this Triple A Visual Novel combines mystery, comedy, journalism, and asmr into an exciting adventure. An installment to the beloved breaded, battered, and fun-fried Troma classic “Poultrygeist: Night of the Living Chicken” has emerged from the minds of Troma. The narrative centers on the killing of a chicken and the smashing of a lawnmower, which bring the city dangerously near to a riot and an even more potent supernatural threat. This is for players that genuinely believe they can solve any case and want to live through a violent, anime-style comic book with deep horror backstory and action. Death of chickens in the Previous City! A chicken is destroyed by a lawnmower. A riot is imminent when the Lawnmowers and suburban chicken owners argue. This riot is only momentarily subdued by the mayor’s commitment to step in. But in the middle of this lawn war, a mysterious force appears that appears connected to the killing of chickens.
In order to find out where the Mayor is, players must explore the city. The user selects routes from wacky, interesting, humorous, and strange scenes involving possible leads. I liked it a lot, but I’d be hard-pressed to recommend it to most people. It’s a 6-hour long slice-of-life story about a generation that isn’t mine and has both the same problems I had, and also brand new ones. It is kind of touching, but it asks a lot of down-time from you. I recommend you turn off the time limits on interactions so you can do other things while the show is playing without out. It’s not a bad way to get some laundry folded or something. Enjoyable music and pleasant voice acting really sell this, I could actually see this as an OVA series on VHS during the 90s, a mix of the macabre horror and upbeat lightheartedness through the entire bit. I was enthralled with every moment and was sad to see it end. I graciously await for a third entry (if any.

This game holds an amazing balance between humor and horror. It is easily able to shift between the two tones, without making sacrifices to either. At some points you will be laughing out loud, and at others: extreme horror. If you like horror, but not jump-scares, there is an option to receive warnings for them. If you played the first game, and aren’t sure if the second one is worth your money, let me tell you: it most certainly is. A lot of the other characters are great too! A few favourites from the first game are back and as entertaining as ever and a lot of the villains hit the perfect balance between threatening and fun. Again, my only real problem is that a few of them feel like they don’t get nearly enough screen time. The biggest example of this for me is a certain Shoggoth who I would have absolutely loved to have seen more of but only really gets one scene right at the end. She was so fun!
