In this first-person escape room style game, you will solve puzzles, explore a unique ship, meet a couple interesting characters, solve a mystery, and hopefully escape! Solve Puzzles As you explore the ship, find and solve unique puzzles to access more rooms and bring you closer to solving a mystery and escaping. Meet and speak with interesting characters with voice-acted dialogue to gather information about your surroundings and figure out why you’re here. Explore the interesting rooms of a unique ship where no expense was spared and secrets hide in plain sight. As this is a Two Hour Escape Mystery, the vast majority of beta testers who used little to no hints took between 2-3 hours to complete A Puzzling Voyage, but of course, everyone is different. In case you get stuck or need a push in the right direction, there is a small hint and a big hint for each puzzle.
A Puzzling Voyage is the first in hopefully a long line of Two Hour Escape Mysteries! A short and fairly easy escape game with a pirate/nautical theme. Puzzles will be familiar to those who play this genre and clues are straight forward. Dialog is limited to a single pirate who is available to answer questions and spur you on throughout your adventure. The environment consists of a handful of rooms with 2 or 3 puzzles in each. The first time through took me just under 2 hours – I think this included some afk time and listening to all dialog (no option to click through and speed read). I encountered some minor interface challenges (prompt to explain how to open a lock did not initially appear and on occasion, the interact and pick up prompts ‘stacked’ on top of each other).

There is a decode exercise that made me crazy because there did not seem to be a working ‘reset’ and I made a mess of it the first time through. Sigh… I really enjoyed the puzzles! Imo they were the right amount of challenging enough and fun to solve, with the exception of one that I guess I just didn’t have the brainpower for (the cups if you’re wondering after playing), and I had to use a hint on that one. This was fun and I enjoyed the nautical theme, but I’m a newbie to puzzle games so it took me more than 4 1/2 hours to get to the end! The reason it was so challenging is because I wasn’t familiar with most of the puzzle types. I could practically feel my brain growing new neurons on the cups problem. The last 25% of the game went faster because the puzzles got easier for me.
