It was supposed to be an uneventful arrest, but after the suspect made a blood pact with Yakub, this rookie cop is in for much more than he bargained for. Can he defeat Tyrone and return home to his family? The sound design of this game is absolutely horrid too. It’s all too normal to drive around without hearing the sound of your vehicles at all, which is just plain wrong. The soundtrack is nothing to write home about. The Character Creator is so flexible and complex you can recreate virtually anyone you can think of, and you can also share and download other player versions of The Boss via an easy menu. It’s a true powertrip in that you become way too deadly way too fast, but it at least makes for some interesting gameplay without a need to focus on realistic. I would hope they would be able to follow up on this and build on the ground work they put down, but it sounds like the studio is dead, so this is going to be the final Saints Row game.
The game’s difficulty is fair. If a boss feels unbeatable early on, it means you’re not prepared. Explore more, level up, get better gear—soon, the game becomes more manageable. So, they filled it with stuff like ruins and caves. The downside? Some bosses start feeling a bit repetitive. I get it’s hard to make a big map and balance it with creativity at the same time, but meeting the same mini-boss a bunch of times got a tad boring, even though I got used to it. The caves and catacombs scattered throughout the vast lands offer an enjoyable exploration experience, enriched with puzzles and mazes. I relished navigating through each one, and the inclusion of a cooperative element by summoning a friend to explore together adds another layer of fun to the exploration process.

Without them, the game would be less enjoyable. While some may not prioritize side quests, I encourage giving them a chance Each is uniquely crafted, presenting a special and distinct challenge. Not all of them posed significant difficulty for me, except for two late-game bosses, but I genuinely enjoyed every fight, regardless of the level of challenge. Whether you’re galloping through the quaint town of Strawberry or strolling through the wilds of Valentine, the captivating ambiance and the mesmerizing glow of Saint Denis’ city lights can make you forget about the existence of any other world for hours. It at least is a good point to leave off on and it does work as a self contained follow-up.
