A demon possessed you one year ago. Since that day, you unwillingly tore a trail of bloodshed through New York City. Your salvation comes in the form of the Unavowed – an ancient society dedicated to stopping evil. You are free, but your world is in tatters. You have no home, no friends, and are wanted by the police. Your old life is gone, but perhaps you can start a new one. Join the ranks of the Unavowed, and fight against the oncoming darkness. The puzzling tends towards the easy for me but I got momentarily stumped a few times and had to resort to a walkthrough once, overall I would say it gets the balance just about right most of the way through the game, I wasn’t bored because I had to think but I wasn’t frustrated because I’d work it out in a matter of minutes at worst. I love the characters and I loved the world that was presented, it isn’t a unique idea but I felt it was done well. If you like a good fantasy/supernatural themed story in a contemporary setting then I would recommend. If you like point and clicks I would recommend, If you like both then all I can say is enjoy.
It isn’t perfect IMO, there were nits to pick throughout but they were all very much forgivable to the point where I wouldn’t even bother specifically pointing them out because they were so minor and many would come down to opinion rather than objective fault. I can however say I experienced no bugs and only one crash but I think I caused it by pressing the wrong key on the keyboard since it flashed up a text box message about the abort key having been pressed or something and then the game closed (sadly I didn’t know which key I had pushed to cause that Given that I experienced that I would recommend you remember to save fairly often, the game does autosave but does so some what liberally as I discovered after that sort of crash and started to save periodically afterwards but didn’t experience anything else like that in the rest of the play-through.

Unavowed offers a captivating narrative, memorable characters, and an immersive atmosphere. While it may have some pacing and gameplay limitations, it’s a must-play for fans of narrative-driven adventures. Unavowed is a good adventure game with nice pixelart graphics and an interesting setting, with some unexpected twists in its story and also the option to play as different characters from the start. This makes the game easily replayable if you are curious to look at the events from different angles. There are also four different endings, which is not common in this kind of games, so that’s a plus. This is not an heavily object-puzzle based adventure, locations are not massive and usually you can proceed quite easily just through dialogue. Unavowed is not a difficult game, it can be completed in 6-7 hours, but overall I think the ride deserves its ticket cost.
