I’ve been watching this game carefully since its early stages of development, and it’s the first that really comes up to my expectations that I’ve played in a long time. It is precisely what it claims to be: a cozy and inviting playground for creating apocalyptic cities. If you’re even somewhat interested in cyberpunk or city builders, let alone both, it’s definitely worth a try. I’m positive you won’t be disappointed.
The price is ridiculously low for the quality, and Matt, the developer, deserves every penny. The factory and ship interfaces aren’t perfect. There’s lots of text and different features aren’t always intuitive. Overall, I think you get plenty of tools to make your factories and ships operate in a way that is useful, once you learn to use the system. I would strongly encourage to play the tutorials and pick one of the pre-set starts for your first campaign. All the campaigns put you in the same galaxy, but differ in the amount of starting help you receive. I chose the Teladi start, which gives a factory but I think I would recommend a Terran start to get to grips with the game. Graphics and game play is great if you are a skilled player. I had difficulty figuring out how to load trucks, harvest and process product. Navigating the camera while landscaping and placing buildings was difficult.
Dystopika Direct Play:
The progress you make is slow, but that makes it all the more rewarding when you save up enough money for those nice new tyres you wanted. If you’ve ever dreamt of a great American road trip, American Truck Simulator is just about as good as it gets without doing the real thing. The game could use more variety in house designs, and bunkers can be quite annoying to deal with. Also, it’s a bit of a letdown that you have to buy a pack just to mow the lawn. One feature I think would elevate this game to the next level is a co-op mode. It would be amazing to team up with friends to flip houses together. This game is very relaxing and stress free. Ive played for 4 hours straight and completely felt relaxed the whole time. The game is very soothing and rewarding.
