Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is a dark open world RPG game set in early 2000’s Los Angeles about a secret society of vampires blending in with mortal society and ensuring that said mortals don’t find out about their existence. This is what they call “The Masquerade” and you, as a newly formed vampire, must adhere to these rules or face death. While thrust into a new hidden world you have yet to get used to, there is a war going on with the Sabbat, a sinister vampiric sect determined to take over LA and destroy the Camarilla,
the current status quo of the vampire (or Kindred) world. In Kindred society, there are various clans: the wealthy and elitist Ventrue, the elegant and artistic Toreador, the hideous and shadowy Nosferatu etc. You have the choice of 7 clans to be a part of before setting off on your undead adventure. Depending on which clan you choose, you will have different Attributes, Disciplines etc. These Disciplines can range from growing claws to making people explode with blood magic. While being a vampire in LA, not only must you adhere to the Masquerade but also to mortal laws that, if broken, will result in criminal violations and police chases, so be careful. There are also other vampiric factions aside from the Camarilla and the Sabbat, such as the rebellious Anarchs and the oriental Kuei-jin, not to mention other supernatural beings such as werewolves, zombies.
