Violent Horror Stories: anthology” is an anthology of horror games from different authors. Each game represents the authors’ take on the theme of “pursuit” with its own visual design, gameplay, and story. The average completion time for each game is 15-30 minutes. GAMES IN THE ANTHOLOGY: “I ate old man’s liver now this b***ch is mine” — a psychological arthouse horror about the loss of virginity. “No, i’m not a human i’m a ɿ̲̻ ʍ́ ρ̇̎Ծ̬͎Տ̯ͦ Ե̧͗_ͅ_̝̆ȝ̍ͯՐ͂͡” — an intimate story about a disaster and guests from underground. People are breaking into your home, but not all of them are true people. “Sensation” — become a reporter for Japanese television and do not lose your “Sensation,” a famous actress who behaves extremely suspiciously. Discover her secret by finding necessary items on location and pressing them in time. Time slips away from you, just like the actress herself. “All along the toon tower” — a cartoonish cat in cyclical existential horror tries to escape using his wits and an axe.
Despite the different level of quality of the games in this anthology, I still enjoyed it overall and can recommend it to anyone. And it’s at least worth buying just to play “No, i’m not a human”. And gladly those games doesn’t use generic screamers and generic indie horror games formula, so most games are quite creative in their approach to the genre. I started with “All along the toon tower” and despite the fact that enemy AI can be janky sometimes and controls are not that user-friendly (especially with breaking the doors), I still enjoyed the idea and puzzle solving and it’s a bit sad that most of the game you feel like you are in a tutorial-stage of it and by the time the “real” game will start – it will soon be over. Im also a bit bitter over the game ending and the last puzzle that was confusing to me: I thought that drawing tells that you have to put all three enemies in the TV room to get the true ending, but in reality it’s just a simple “kill them all” and get yourself into TV.

And I also prefer the fake ending and it’s a bit sad that I got the real one first. Im not sure about the “Sensation” and “I ate old man’s liver”, but I think they are overall the weakest ones in the collection where one game has a very cringy anime writing and and the other game has just cringy writing with tons of totally funny memes, that Im not sure who will enjoy other than streamers (which is probably for whom this game was targeted). Tho “I ate” had at least a good visuals. My favourite one was definitely “No, i’m not a human” that kinda surprised me by how good this one is not only as a part of anthology, but just as a game itself with it’s interesting detective gameplay formula, lore and visuals. I would recommend to play this one at least and finish it. The only issues is that you can’t quite the dialogues once you started conversation and you can lose your energy because of it.
