When I first picked this game up years ago I got stuck on one of the bosses in the first area I went to (it was the yeti in the snow area). I couldn’t get the timing down or figure out the best way to actually beat the boss. Coming back to the game, I saved that area for last and this time I was willing to watch the occasional video to help me figure out how to approach some of the fights I got stuck on. Nailing the execution would still take a few attempts to get right and the last few bosses at the end of the game were challenges that I can feel proud to have overcome. Similar to Super Meat Boy, this is a game where you will die many times in rapid succession but getting back to where you were to try again is such a quick and painless process that it never gets overly frustrating. You don’t have to beat every boss to finish the game so if a fight has you stumped you can move on to somewhere else. Worst case scenario you can put the game down for a bit and come back later. Often a small reset like going to bed and coming back in the morning was enough to get me in a calm enough mindset to get the fight I was stuck on down in only 2 more tries.
