The School Headmaster needs your help to recover the Philosopher’s Stone. Wizardry School is an escape room that will put your wizard skills to the test. Solve puzzles, decipher magical artifacts, learn new spells, find hidden objects, and investigate the different rooms of the wizardry school you study at. You will have to overcome hard trials to recover the Philosopher’s Stone. Will you save the School? All puzzles can be solved using logic (and your wizard skills!). Explore the different rooms of the magic school where you study, such as the common room, the headmaster’s office or the potions class. Find out more about your magical skills, learn new spells and put them to the test. Enjoy the mysterious setting of the castle where the magic school is located. Another enjoyable escape-the-room-puzzler from mc2games. I have played all of their previous titles and this one has a different look and feel (Harry-Potter-ish versus industrial) but did not disappoint me.
Puzzles are diverse and usually solved by finding environmental clues or working out logic problems. This requires some step-by-step thinking and a pencil and paper. Most did not take me too long to figure out but a couple were quite obtuse. The game is split into 5 areas of the Wizardry School – each with a set of puzzles that must be solved to advance to the next room. Your progress is auto-saved on exit and you have an explicit save button (which saves to the same slot). All achievements are story-based so you will be at 100% if you escape the Wizardry School. Inventory items are automatically retrieved as puzzles are solved and then automatically used when needed.

Thus, you do not have to do any inventory management and there is no guesswork on what to do with what. I recommend this (and the other titles by mc2games) to those who like to put on their thinking caps and take notes. While some reviewers complained the game was too short, it took me about 5 hours to work through and I felt as if I had gotten my money’s worth. Those who wish to maximize their ‘hours per dollar’ ratio may want to watch for a sale. You can clearly see how the puzzle design has been improving with each game and I think that Wizardry School has some really original puzzles.
