Your goal is to fill out the absorb bar and consume the enemy, earning a skill point. The latter encounters are pretty challenging and will have you reviewing the tools at your disposal and thinking of the best ways to approach the challenge. One of the key features is swapping between two characters that have different movement and combat abilities on the fly, which works fairly well. with a large amount of skills being equivalent except for the elemental damage type, but at the very least they have unique sounds and animations. Some of the combat encounters are frustrating, in particular those featuring fire enemies. Fire enemies have a health bar in addition to an absorb bar, and it’s a race between the two, many a time you will accidentally kill the foe before having a chance to absorb them, which, for all intents and purposes, is as if you haven’t beaten them at all.
