The presentation is very similar to what we had with Worms 2, but I do feel that things are a bit sharper all around here. The Worms themselves have a bit more detail and they have as much personality as always. This is made even more so when you customize them the way you want, especially with the way they talk. I really like how packed with game modes this is. You have a single-player campaign where you have to take on various missions. These usually have some kind of predetermined game mode or health situation for you to deal with. If you really fancy yourself as a great player, you can take on the Deathmatch mode which pits you against wave after wave of Worm armies! You also have a tutorial which is great for showing you how to use some of the fun new weapons as well as giving you a better understanding of how the game works.
Then you can assign defense escort to your larger ships using defend command – those ships will help the guarded ship in combat and follow it around. Very useful for keeping some fighter/corvette escort around your destroyers for example. There are many more examples of how you can make things easier for yourself in this game, while you still can select all targets manually if you so desire. Commanding large amounts of units doesn’t need to feel like a chore. Corvettes in don’t act as their original selves. They don’t fly around and make strafing runs against their targets. Now they get in range, stop and start firing, just like bigger ships do. That makes many corvettes far less survivable against small-guns fire. Other minor issues in HM2 and HM2 Remaster There are some pathing issues. For example, resource collectors will have a problem with going around a mothership if it’s on the move. Dreadnoughts and Gunships will sometimes have to be microed into range of their weapons because they seem to hang out a little bit too far from the enemy when ordered to attack sometimes.
