About The Game
Rip out enemies organs and equip them in your own body. Fight biopunk monsters and drugged-up space bandits. You are a Gajeshian Cultist: A near-mythological being built from the bodies of long-dead saints. You have arrived on the partially terraformed planet of Chrisembourgh on a temple-ordained mission to find and kill someone. Explore the planet and trace your victims steps to the end. It’s like Cruelty Squad’s mystic, inter-planetary cousin. Gunfights are frenetic and movement and shooting are super fun. Sadly, it is rather short. One thing that does kind of rub me the wrong way is that the developer has a video talking about padding out a game to get around steam’s refund policy, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of that while playing the game. And although I am having fun with it and still recommend it, I would consider the negative reviews before purchasing.
This game is a work of art. I went into it blind and I have to say that when you reach the ice level at the end I almost fell off of my seat, it was terrifying. However, I wish there was more to the game. What I mean is that I wish there was like a sort of sandbox mode where there wasn’t a story, you could just run around and do quests, it would make the game a 10/10. In its current state I would still recommend to anyone who hasn’t played it to do so.
Wrought Flesh is a pretty unique indie first person shooter, with its distinct biopunk setting and gameplay. There’s not too much to say, but the game’s a pretty damn fun time albeit the balancing is a tad skewed, especially in the final *area* past that, it’s a fun time, would recommend, maybe it’s not worth full price to others given its short length, but its definitely worth a look at somepoint regardless, would love to see more from the game, maybe a sequel or ‘expansion’ that just adds more, anything really.
