Classes are dolled out over the course of the game, which shake up gameplay even more. At the beginning of a new run, you can chose a character class, each of which has different stats and special abilities. You start with just one class, and unlock more as you progress. The roster already seems very fleshed out, with over a dozen classes to unlock. Add to this a kick with spacebar that knocks enemies back, and a lunging shield bash on left shift that stuns.
Zombie City Rescue Pre-Installed:
As you progress through the game, you will unlock combos like kick+bash+swing that will trigger a bonus of some sort. Sometimes pickups are a straight upgrade, sometimes you have to do your own cost/benefit analysis, and if anything you don’t want to pick up, you can instantly sell for currency to use in town on upgrades and refills. The graphics are obviously the first thing you’ll notice. They seem more extreme in pictures than when you’re actually playing. I was worried about readability, but once you’re engaged in the game the visuals fade into the background as you focus on surviving.
