With Vigil we got a Metroidvania Game done right. In almost every way. Fun and rewarding combat, deep lore and a wonderful story, a lot of spells, wepons, gear and builds to work with. From all the Action RPGs they throw at us in recent years, thanks to Dark Souls, this one stands out from the crowd. Very similar to another great pearl in the gerne called Salt and Sanctuary. Or even a little like Hollow Knight if you want some comparison. While SaS is the perfect DS clone in 2D, Vigil is the perfect clone of Bloodborne. You certainly know what i mean, if you have played Bloodborne and Vigil: The Longest Night. You just have to love that beautiful lovecraftian lore! Exploring can be a bit frustrating without certain items (or at least one certain ring), but with them it’s just pure fun.
