“Edelweiss” is a suspenseful puzzle horror game made by Team dimension( humany, Jeffwundedboiz, Teaturtle) using RPG Maker MV. As an RPG, this game does not use the common combat and collection system, all you need to do is explore, solve puzzles, dodge, or load the save after death. The journey of Ayla, the protagonist, and her group of companions as they travel toward their resort. However, their plans take a tragic turn when a car accident leaves them stranded and lost in a dense forest with no communication signal. In search of assistance, Ayla with her friends found to an abandoned orphanage, setting the stage for a spine-chilling horror narrative.
If you enjoy any iteration of Monster hunter, you will find this game quite fun. While the weapons at first glace are an order of magnitude simpler than any option in Monster hunter, the katakuri building mechanic and how said constructs interact with the weapons and monsters fills a lot of that complexity. While also permitting you to personalize you’re hunting style and tolls to you’re preference Stats are only changed on evolution rather than on star gain so there will never be a need to grind up newly caught mons to try to match the rest of your team.
Edelweiss Pre-Installed:
The game isn’t just refined Pokemon, it has new takes on some of the tropes of the genre. The game has unique types, with some familiar ones from other monster training games. The big change to typing though is the interactions. There are no super effective/not effective moves, instead all interactions with types are more complicated then that, often giving a debuff/buff on interaction or rarely even changing the type entirely.
