Alight in the Dark is a reverse bullet hell survival game with a strategic ability and equipment system. Players have limited inventory space and must choose items wisely. The game features side levels for a change of pace and rewards for completing challenges. This game offers a fresh start each playthrough, but with permanent unlocks (characters, upgraded stats) for an advantage. It also has a permanent progression system where players earn souls for unlocking base stats. Players use abilities and equipment to survive against relentless attacks and make strategic decisions using the elements of fire, earth, water, air, light, and shadow. Player choice is crucial and decision making is paused per choice. The game is set in a world where humanity underwent a “revolution of faith,” resulting in the split of light into these elements.
The PvE aspect is cool, but i live for the PvP in this game. nothing else has even come close to matching how intense this game is when the fights dont just end in like a few bullets but its a tug of war and win or lose it was so much fun, Combat feels great and there’s lots of weapon variety. Weapon reloads are long and every shot matters which makes gunfights intense and extremely satisfying. Sound is probably the best aspect of the game. Each weapon has a distinct sound and differ depending on the range it’s being fired from. Animals make noise if you startle them which alerts nearby enemy players to your presence. I understand why they decided to change some aspects of monetization. As long as it keeps the game alive and they keep adding more content then it’s fine.
