Wizordum is a retro styled FPS adventure that feels like a wholesome take on the classic 90’s Hexen style fantasy shooters. Drawing inspiration from Hexen, Heretic and Catacomb Abyss, Wizordum is a magic-based retro FPS filled with secrets, traps and puzzles. In the game you take on the role of a cleric who has been sent to investigate a darkness that’s spreading across the land and to see if you can banish the source that’s causing it. The gameplay in Wizordum feels very much like Hexen and Heretic, but with a much more wholesome setting (though there is still a little blood). Wizordum is a magical journey that effortlessly blends retro aesthetics with modern gaming elements. From what I have played so far, I am loving it. I can see the creativity coming through with the aesthetics, level design, unique weapons, and modding tools. I really love having such an accessible level creator too, as it means more people will hopefully make levels and could create a near-endless amount of content to go through.
Wizordum Free Steam Pre-Installed:
Unfortunately, this isn’t as easy to control with a gamepad, but if you are willing to use the touchscreen or connect a KB+M, this will be great to use. You need to find keys/switches to open doors and there are lots of secrets to find or you snoop around the game world. At the moment Wizordum does feel a little on the easy side and it gets a little repetitive so it might be more suited to younger players. That said, the retro visuals are very charming and its classic fantasy FPS gameplay is great for a bit of nostalgic fun. A wholesome wizardy adventure well worth checking out. love the retro artwork, movement, and play style. The music is good, the sound/fx are cool and the combat is entertaining and sometimes challenging.
