Assassin’s Creed Origins is an open-world action RPG that serves as the origin story of the Assassin Brotherhood, transporting players to Ancient Egypt during the final years of the Ptolemaic Kingdom. Players assume the role of Bayek of Siwa, a respected Medjay sworn to protect the people of Egypt. After a devastating personal tragedy, Bayek embarks on an emotional quest for justice that gradually evolves into a larger struggle against a secret organization manipulating the future of the nation. Alongside his wife, Aya, he becomes one of the founders of the Hidden Ones, the organization that eventually evolves into the Assassin Brotherhood. The game features one of the largest and most detailed worlds in the series, allowing players to freely explore deserts, lush oases, bustling cities, ancient temples, pyramids, tombs, and the legendary cities of Alexandria and Memphis. Dynamic weather, a complete day-and-night cycle, and a living ecosystem filled with wildlife create an immersive recreation of Ancient Egypt. Exploration is constantly rewarded with hidden treasures, historical landmarks, side quests, puzzles, underwater ruins, and legendary equipment scattered throughout the vast landscape.

Combat introduces a modern RPG system that emphasizes timing, dodging, parrying, and strategic weapon selection.
