The Spiral Scouts Join Remae, the newest member of the Spiral Scouts, on her slap-tastic puzzle solving adventure through a world of crazy characters and redonkulous realms. Experience a fartwarming tale of personal growth, self discovery, poop, wieners and butts. The founders of the Spiral Scouts have been isolated and sealed away within their realms by a mysterious force, preventing them from gathering together at the Citadel to perform the Spiral Ceremony; a sacred tradition of paramount importance. It’s up to you to travel to each realm and earn enough Scout Badges. to break the seals and reunite the founders before it’s too late! An adorable puzzle game. Though the humor is clearly not for everyone, especially not kids. Some of the puzzles were very ingenious, and required a good bit of thought. If you are not a fan of puzzles, stay away. I’d advise against using a guide during your playthrough of it, or at least try to solve the puzzles yourself the first time, though there will likely be a couple you get stuck on. (Graveyard vault was my downfall). Earn up to 30 Scout Badges across a lively forest, a spooky graveyard and whatever that other place is!
Spiral Scouts may not turn out to be the hit like HuniePop is, but you can see the core elements from this studio that made it to be a cult favorite. Its unwillingness to censor itself in its jokes while still somehow staying a little bit “classy” while going to the gutter……well it’s actually sorta inspiring. It’s weird to say, but it’s not dirty for the sake of being dirty. Don’t get me wrong, it’s dirty as hell. But this dirty feels purposeful, that each joke was constructed for a specific point to make, and it works rather well. In fact, I can’t really think of a joke that doesn’t hit the mark. A classic in the making. Huniedev and the other guys have outdone themselves with this beautiful and quirky puzzle game. Dank as hell punk. It also helps that even for someone who may not necessarily be a real connoisseur of fart/poop jokes, the game finds a way to make it accessible for even someone like me. It’s the game inate charm that sells it, and I’m amazed that such simple writing is this fun to listen to. There’s some fun characters that I’d love to see more of in the future. Non-linear progression allows you to tackle challenges in almost any order!

Don’t get me wrong, there are some puzzles that make you think and are of a good design. I like the fact that the game hits the gambit on the puzzles types: going from visual based contextual puzzles, to pure number and logic puzzles. On the other hand, there are some puzzles that miss the mark, focusing on trial and error or don’t give you too much to work with. Sometimes the “hint” system misses the mark completely, not giving a push in the direction that it needs to go, and leaving you a bit wondering what’s going on. You don’t want to look up solutions and you have to be very patient to let your mind meld to the way the game is playing. It’s an inconsistent experience in the puzzle area, and while the charm fo the game carries it, it’s something the studio would do better to improve on in the future. A charming art style that helps to emphasize the game’s humor with juxtaposition between the child like visuals and the topics the game jokes about.
