A Few Days Direct Download
A Few Days You are a Private Detective, you scored the easiest case in the world. All you have to do is sit in a sleepy town and wait. On your first day of what you believe is doing nothing and getting paid for it, you get roped into doing a little bit of private detecting for someone, which should only take a few days. Hence the name of the game. Once word gets around that there is a Private Detective in town, a few people start showing up with their petty small-town problems, none of them can afford to actually pay what a Private Detective normally charges, but one by one you keep getting sucked into it, realizing slowly that all is not what it seems. I want to rate it higher, but just can’t.
I really didn’t like the writing. It supposed to be funny, but mostly I was facepalming. Some of dialogues were so dumb, I just can’t.. I couldn’t even play more than 3 episodes, then I just gave up. Graphics: excellent, story: witty and so dumb sometimes that you laugh ’til you get a stomach ache, MC: a likeable guy that isn’t behaving like a wimp, LIs: so many and all lovely, btw did I mention that I love Charlie?, lewd scenes: ok, but only thing that could be better (mostly 2-shot-animation, that you can move forward to next until you cum. Still good enough to get me not to withdraw any star! What a fun story! Cute girls and a very well written and interesting plot. Every bit as good as Hustle Town by the same dev. Some great moments of humor that had me laughing outload. Unique character models that you won’t see on any other game.
A Few Days Direct Play:
The women are complex characters, with believable and interesting backgrounds and personalities. A mystery is unfolding in this story, and I am eager to see where it goes. This game suffers from trying to fit a detective story into a porn game, and neither component is handled all that well. The models for the characters – while all freakishly similar in appearance [is this an alternate universe where all women have gothwing eye makeup?] – are well done and attractive. It is abundantly clear as to what sort of woman the dev finds attractive, and he doubles down on that preference at every single opportunity. All of the women resemble each other. To be honest, I can barely tell the difference between the cop and the MC’s Girl Friday. They all just….blend together. That was the good part of the review. The story is dreadfully forced and meanders all over a tiny little nondescript ocean-front town with a past that is explained – as is pretty much everything else – through exhaustive exposition. While sometimes useful in a regular novel, this VN has none of the visual cues that would make connecting the dots of the mystery so much more rewarding [the bit about the refrigerator is especially obtuse]. There are literally dozens of literary devices that could have been employed to move the detective story along, and yet precisely none of them were used.
