BLOODWASH is a giallo-inspired laundry horror game with low-poly, PS1-style graphics. Sara is a pregnant college student living with her alcoholic boyfriend in a run-down apartment complex. To make matters worse, a serial killer targeting pregnant women, the Womb Ripper, is terrorizing the city. One night, the washing machine in the basement breaks down. A helpful neighbor tells Sara about a 24-hour laundromat on the outskirts of town.

Bloodwash is a horror snack, just like the low-budget VHS’s you found in the back of the video store.” -Zoey Handley, Destructoid Bloodwash is the most fun I had in a long time. Retro, creepy, and moody, it will please every horror lover. The game is also fairly priced albeit it’s short runtime. I decided to try it on Steam Deck and it runs perfectly.
Bloodwash Direct Play:
There were tons of fun interactable Easter eggs and things to collect to round out this relatively short game, but it never felt like a chore and I genuinely wanted to find them all because it added to the overall experience. The last third of the game gets genuinely creepy, but not in an overbearing way. But just as quick as it came, it went and the game was over. I could have used a few more characters and maybe an extra hour of gameplay to explore this world, but that said it’s a solid recommend.
