The English subtitles are not the best but they are definitely good enough to enjoy the game. You will rarely get confused. But handy messages are not translated at all which is an issue. This game is full of plot twists, early endings and surprises. Your choices do matter a lot and will influence what happens in a major degree. The game is filmed very well and the video quality is good enough. The favor system actually takes some effort and thinking and will influence what endings you can get. The overall tone and writing is quite over-the-top, which makes for a light-hearted and fun experience if you don’t take the story developments too seriously from Su Yimo constantly pretending to be dead to get protagonist Luo Yu’s attention to celebrity Ouyang Lu immediately becoming friends with corporate heiress Ye Wen after a game of volleyball. It’s something out of a romance manga/anime!

Serious moments where I felt you got to see the various women open up to Luo Yu only arguably start to occur in Chapter 4, such as Ye Wen sharing her view of love not being just about being joyful all the time or Jiang Zhiwan sharing her admiration for Luo Yu to keep pursuing his film-making dream. This is past the story’s halfway mark and makes the romantic developments feel less realistic.
