The entire game feels like a huge step back from the original. The combo attacks are barely cohesive, the animations for some of the attacks are super janky, and the whole lacrima system is super dumb. Also its ridiculously easy, and if you just fight a lot of the early mobs and do the area bosses as you find the, the actual story is a cakewalk. Even the cutscenes are jankier than the original. I thought this was gonna be higher budget and flashy and cool, but most of it is just recycled animations from a fairly cohesive turn-based battle system mashed together to try to make something actiony? It also crashes a bunch – if you’re a fan of fairy tail like me and wanna play it just for the cool flashy nostalgia, wait for it to go on sale.
