I played the demo, so I had been waiting for this. This is a cute and relaxing game of taking photos of butterflies and some other animals. It is short, my playtime of 2.8 hours is for an 85% playthrough, and I took my time. I’ll definitely replay this to find the 15% i missed and get the rest of the achievements. The game starts with a very small area and expands it gradually, but even at its largest, the area is quite small.
Good for players who tend to get lost in larger areas, not so good for people fond of exploration. Definitely a good game for kids, but still suitable for any ages. It’s colorful and safe, but finding everything takes some effort. As for the price, it is a bit high considering the amount of content, but not unreasonable. Absolutely in love! This game is what I hope to someday be my life, and being able to recognise the species and all of their little details just makes this an exciting experience for me. Not to mention how this is exactly what I envision when I think of a “cosy game”. The music is soothing and fitting for the day and night cycles, pairing really well with the natural ambience, something that I’ve always loved about Runway games, and the style is visually satisfying to the point where I find myself wandering through the same areas over and over, just to fully admire every last bit of scenery. I often stop to take multiple pictures of the same thing just to get the best of many beautiful images

I can’t even begin to express how exciting it was to interact with so many aspects of the wildlife, from the plants and trees, to the animals and butterflies/moths themselves. Even the detail of finding hidden discoveries is thrilling, like I’m finding something new every single day to keep me hooked on my already breathtaking surroundings Some may view this game as a bit too repetitive, and may be a bit daunted by how short of a game it is, but to someone like me who adores insects, animals, and wildlife (and also has very high hopes for games made by Runway, I’ve been here since Flutter itself), this game does not disappoint. I’ve been anticipating a full release ever since I saw the news update on their Flutter mobile games, and I have been overwhelmed with pure joy at how well the style has translated into a PC/Switch game.
