HOME is a Japanese adult visual novel that unfolds almost entirely inside a single apartment block, where its narrator has spent years shutting the outside world away. Shun Hidaka is a reclusive young man whose only real attachment is Nagi Tsukishiro, the quiet childhood friend who grew up a few doors down from him. The two were inseparable as children, drifting between each other’s rooms after school, and the timid Nagi leaned on Shun for almost everything while he quietly treasured her. Years later that closeness has curdled into something Shun has never admitted aloud. The story turns when he happens to glance out of his window and catches Nagi stepping out of her own apartment beside a man he does not recognize, the pair of them far too comfortable with one another. What follows is a deliberately uncomfortable psychological drama about obsession, jealousy, and the lengths a fixated mind will go to justify itself.

Play is structured as a branching adult visual novel, told through illustrated scenes, character art, and a steady stream of decisions that steer the narrator down one route or another. Between story beats the game shifts into a scheming layer in which the protagonist prepares the apartment itself, arranging objects, opportunities, and pretexts meant to pull a couple on the verge of marriage apart, with spiked drinks and other underhanded methods forming the core of its self-described crime simulation. Three women can be pursued, one central heroine and two supporting ones, and the branching is generous enough that a single playthrough is far from the whole picture, since it is possible to end up involved with all three. Each of them carries several distinct endings, ranging from tender resolutions along the sincere romance path to considerably bleaker outcomes, so replaying with different choices is the intended way to see the full script. The result is a dialogue-heavy adult title with an unmistakably dark streak, including some genuinely cruel scenes, aimed at players who want an unsettling relationship drama rather than a gentle one.
