One fateful Halloween night, Mollie falls into the claws of The Wizard. Now, she must use her wits to escape his twisted estate – but she’s not alone! She teams up with Mordecai, another victim in The Wizard’s grasp. Together, this young duo teams up to achieve their ultimate goal: escape the estate and undo the magic that has cursed them both! I can’t really describle the feeling of playing this game other than every way you choose to finish a level does not seem like you are playing the game right. As you go along through trial and error thoughts come to you like “oh I should tear this wall down” or “oh I can use the crane to raise a pallet and put planks on each side of the pallet that connect my path between buildings.
The core concept is that you play as a stick man (or woman) that lives on the 2D planes within our 3D world. This concept resonates with me, as I have often daydreamed of similar ideas during my daily commutes. The concept also has plenty of room to expand, as new interactions with the 3D world are plentiful. The progression in The Pedestrian is very quick. Just as soon as you are comfortable with the current set of mechanics, the game moves on. New mechanics are typically easy to pick up, and hints in the environment behind the puzzle are readily available. The Pedestrian never overstays its welcome, and concisely explores each new idea before introducing another.
This single-player campaign for pc introduces an original story set in a unique fantasy universe where the player controls two unique characters with distinct skillsets in order to overcome elaborate puzzles and persistent enemies. This game isn’t just a demolition and destruction game; this game is also a heist game, at least, most levels are. Essentially you have to streamline a route between items that you need to steal via tools, explosives, guns, hammer, blow torch, etc., and vehicles, bulldozer, crane, pettibone, forklift, etc that tear walls and even buildings down. Once you pick up your first item that you need to steal, you have one minute to get to the rest of the items and back to your escape vehicle.
