‘Ruadh: Warbands’ is a tactical, turn-based roguelite that invites players into the world of Ruadh – a gritty fantasy setting inspired by Norse mythology. Gather warriors from the five clans, travel the land, manage your warband, and fight through increasingly powerful enemies to rid the island of a lurking threat. Easy to learn: You can move and attack, that’s it. Mind-bogglingly deep: You can choose from 8 classes, 5 clans and 150 upgrades, which can be freely combined with each other, giving you an almost infinite choice of gameplay possibilities. No Surrender: You will die. A lot. But you’ll also get to unlock amazing new classes, clans and upgrades in order to aid you in your quest to safe Ruadh from a lurking threat! Gorgeous 2D Graphics: I mean, look at it! Immersive Music: A series of atmospheric soundtracks invite you into the world of Ruadh!
The game is easy to grasp and I am glad a help guide was added to show players what keys do what. The clans are interesting and I had a fun time trying different combinations although I think the Bloodseeker – Shieldmaiden might be my favourite! I especially enjoyed the lovely art and the absolutely fantastic music! Also the raids scale nicely and it gives you a fair chance but not making it too easy. I hope more interesting things will be added in the future!

Actual combat feels satisfying and frustrating at the same time as the game may lull you into a false sense of security only to completely take you by surprise by a sudden difficulty spike when you find yourself asking “great, another batch of enemy reinforcements? How am I supposed to survive this?” Surprisingly even though most enemies stay the same, the way the game randomly generates the map and how well the AI uses the map to it’s advantage makes it so that it doesn’t bore me at all and I feel excited every single mission.

- Wait 5 seconds and click on the grey ‘download now’ button. Now let the download begin and wait for it to finish.
- Once the game is done downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to” (To do this you must have 7-Zip or winrar, which you can get here).
- Double click inside the Ruadh Warbands folder and run the exe application.
- Thats all, enjoy the game! Make sure to run the game as administrator and if you get any missing dll errors, look for a file named All In One Runtimes.exe run this and install it.
