The gameplay is intuitive and satisfying, simulated ballistic projectiles results in some entertaining mishaps or wins. The AI is very challenging especially early on, requiring you to learn new strategies on the fly to keep up, in both the singleplayer and skirmish modes. On that note the singleplayer is actually very fun and its surprising how much voicework and lore there is in a game that maybe didn’t require it, but surely benefits from it.

I haven’t played many of these games so the whole concept of an economy on the battlefield was a surprisingly welcome addition, and bought in a whole bunch of tactical mechanics you don’t really see in other games. There are an absolute ton of unique units spread out over the four factions, each with their own specific purpose (so not 20 tanks that all basically do the same thing for the sake of variety), and each faction has their own strengths and weaknesses you can take advantage of. The models, despite the low texture res, are very detailed and look fantastic when you’ve made your own army and megabase. There’s a lot of maps for the multiplayer/skirmish modes and they get crazy big,
