So, I actually refunded this game. Let me explain before you sick the Pickle Gang on me. I already thought going in I might not like this one because of the drastic departure from the first, but I wanted to give it a chance. First five minutes of battle and I knew I was screwed lol. I *loved* the first. It was fast enough to keep my interest but slow enough for my old arse to keep up. I loved the slow pace of the first while having a so-so level of difficulty. But I am horrible at bullet-hell games, and I really don’t enjoy them. But this dev team is doing something different with an IP that they’re clearly passionate about. That, and the character and writing of Turnip Boy, deserves a thumbs up. If you enjoyed the first and want more of what the train at the end of that game gave you, this is it. If you want more slower paced, Zelda-esque exploration, maybe cheer them on from afar this time. Maybe they’ll do another adventure one for us old timers down the line.

Turnip boy robs a bank is exactly how we imagined it would be. a perfect goofy little sequel with all our favourite characters from the original game with some brand new witty dialouge. many of our favourite characters even returned to bring us some exciting new quests! My favourite thing is watching my goofy little turnip boy run around with a chainsaw twice the size of him. The map is super fun to explore with it having lots of connectivity between rooms making it simple to navigate after exploring for the first time. While exploring you stumble across lots of different pieces of lore towards our veggie world, the plot thickens thats for sure. Across the map there are several bosses all with similar mechanics but very different dialogue and personalities. My favourite being the first boss and his very western yeehaw attitude. The game is split into multiple exploration runs from your home base, where you can purchase progressive and permanent upgrades to your armaments.
