Dissolution of My Self is a point-and-click psychological horror story built entirely around a single rented room and the two people confined inside it. Hector was once the prince of a kingdom that no longer exists. Stripped of his throne, his homeland and any future worth naming, he now lives in cramped anonymity with Matvey, his uncle and former aide-de-camp, who fled alongside him under a false name and keeps them both alive through off-the-books electrical work. What looks like an ordinary apartment is, to Hector, a museum of quiet cruelty: every chair, bottle and appliance carries the residue of a bond that has curdled into something possessive and inescapable. The premise is unusually blunt about its intentions. Hector has decided that today is the day he stops remembering, and the player is enlisted as an accomplice in that erasure, coaxing buried recollections to the surface only so they can be stripped away. It is a story about exile, dependence and the slow disassembly of a person who no longer wants to exist as himself.

Play consists of examining objects scattered through the room, each one unlocking a fragment of Hector’s past. The order of discovery is entirely up to the player, and that ordering shapes the rhythm and framing of the narrative rather than branching it, since the game leads to one conclusion and its choices govern how the text is experienced instead of unlocking alternate routes. Hector is an unreliable narrator by design, recounting the same history differently depending on his mental state at the moment of recall, so contradictions between fragments become part of the reading. As memories are surrendered, the objects that produced them visibly degrade, blurring and losing their purpose until the room itself hollows out alongside its occupant. There are no monsters, no combat and no jump scares. The dread is generated by confinement, by exile, and by a relationship in which uncle and nephew occupy the roles of sovereign and servant, caretaker and patient, parent and dependent all at once. Full voice acting supports both leads, and gallows humor cuts through the oppression. It suits players drawn to fragmented storytelling, codependent character studies and horror that works through atmosphere rather than threat.
