The Outbound Ghost is an adventure RPG about helping ghosts ascend to the afterlife. In the world of The Outbound Ghost, ghosts are the embodiment of regret. Most people go to the afterlife after dying, yet those who were unhappy with their previous lives become ghosts and are forced to haunt the Earth until they right their wrongs. Of course, this is not always possible since doing this as a ghost is orders of magnitude harder than when you are a human. However, some manage to do this and are able to spend the rest of their deaths in the afterlife. In The Outbound Ghost, your task is to help others fix or come to terms with their past lives so that they can enjoy the pleasures of eternal bliss. You must achieve that for yourself too, but it’s not so easy to mend the mistakes of your past life when you don’t even remember them.
The Outbound Ghost Pre-Installed:
The Outbound Ghost is not a puzzle, although there are little mini puzzle-like events that are reminiscent of Undertale. In this game you play as a ghost that appeared in the Outbound; a world populated by ghosts of the afterlife. You soon meet a few other friendly ghosts where the common goal is finding closure with their deaths. As you help your new friends, you’ll find enemies along the way which you’ll fight in a Paper Mario style turn-based team battle, but more Pokemon-like because only your Figments fight for you. What are Figments? Figments are parts of your personality such as Regret, Comradery, Callousness, and 31 other possible companions. You can equip a wide range of Aspects (similar to badges in Paper Mario) to each of your Figments to give them increased stats or even ones with both positive and negative effects, and new abilities altogether such as a revive ability to aid downed Figments. As you explore these Aspects are also found in recipe books that usually come with 3 Aspects of a specific theme (healing, power, etc), but often requiring you to choose between 2 recipe books.
