Bramble The Mountain King takes you on a gripping and unsettling journey through stunning environments. Take on the role of Olle, a young boy setting off to rescue his sister, kidnapped by a dreaded troll. Not everything in Bramble is exactly how it seems – in this strange land with creatures big and small, you must be careful when to approach and when to hide. Many hungry and spiteful beasts lurk in these forests and caves. Watch your step…. Call upon the Spark of Courage, an enchanted fragment granting the gifts you need to endure the pitfalls and trials in your path. Defeat the horrid creatures you encounter in different and unique ways. Be warned, courage without kindness can take you down a dark path. I found this to be an incredible experience overall. I was completely captivated from the start until the end. In fact, I couldn’t put it down until I finished it around 4 hours later. With stunning visuals and beautiful audio, the story will take you through a world inspried by Nordic myths, folklore and fairy tales. At times it can be quite light hearted, but like all the great fairy tales, it’s never afraid to be brutal, dark and gruesome.
Your adventure will be sprinkled with horror, platforming, stealth sections, boss fights, puzzles and more. As you continue your journey to the mountain, you’ll come to realize the game has a lot in store for you. This game is absolutely stunning! It ain’t too long to be fair but what you get is definitely worth it. The gameplay is pretty simple but it doesen’t have to be complicated and I am pretty sure it ain’t the main purpose as with other games like this (Little Nightmares for example). The focus if you ask me is on the story and the atmosphere. And the music, I loved it. And as an extra point I’m a Swede and have lived in Sweden all my life. I grew up with the stories told and shown in this game and I absolutely adore it. To see the folklore of my home represented this good honestly brought a happy tear here and there during my gameplay. Also a really fun extra thing to understand words and stuff like that.

And i really commend the developers for using Scandinavian folklore as an inspiration, even for things spooky. There’s to many games with horror elements, and it’s way to often random monsters, or merely amalgamations of things perserved as scary or discomforting, and it’s getting tiresome at times. Bramble is an excellent game that offers players an immersive and challenging experience. The game’s unique art style and visual design create a beautiful and captivating world for the player to explore. The game mechanics are well thought out and the levels are challenging but fairly designed, making the game suitable for both casual and hardcore gamers. The game’s controls are intuitive and responsive, making it easy to get into the game and enjoy the platforming action.
