Lots of side quests and a whole lotta zombies and gore, even with 16 hours straight of doing the main mission, side mission and completing achievements i’m still not 100% done, so if you want a game to grind for hours and not instantly finish everything, i recommend this game. Sure dead rising 3 or 2 is better but i recommend this game if you’re skeptical about getting this game in 2023. Dead Rising 4 is very much different than the other Dead Rising games. While I enjoyed this game and liked the game play, it is very different than the original games. First of all, the inventory system is completely changed. Previously, you were required to very carefully select a combination of weapons and items which you would use to navigate your surroundings. This meant reserving a slot in your 5-10 inventory for food, magazines, and whatever items needed to craft new items at workbenches. DR4, uses a new inventory which separates melee weapons, throw able items, guns and ranged weapons, and healing items.
Dead Rising 4 Pre-Installed:
One of the major charms of the previous titles was knowing what items or combination of foods would have what effect on your character. In this game, all food items are built the same. While this takes away from the players who enjoyed the challenge of knowing what items were located where, what items were needed to be put together, what area the workbench/blender you needed to use was, and of course making sure you even had enough space in you inventory to make the item you wanted to craft; I feel this change kind of streamlines the who game play of DR. I remember when DR came out on Xbox 360 and how excited I was to play the game, I wanted to be able to fight off hoards of zombies. All zombies were basically the same without major variations in game play (yes, I’m aware that skinny zombies, fat zombies, or cop zombies technically had different health levels), with the only real difference between zombies were their day or night behaviors. This game kind of kills that with the concept of “fresh zombies” which move quickly and jump on you, “evolved zombies” which are stronger and have different attack abilities, and of course the big bad main boss zombie.
