Is what you see: A tower defense game where you spawn Metal Slug characters. They made a lot of new characters and thus new sprite work, which although personally doesn’t have the same quality as the OG games, is still mentioning the effort they put for pulling waifus back then. Obviously as an ex-F2P game there’s no monetization besides the single purchase. However, again like XDive, is a barebone game that encourages plenty of grinding now that isn’t stuck with a stamina system. In this case for better or worse there’s an auto mode, so you can make the game dumb easy if you start farming the first stages.

I haven’t tried the online yet at the time of posting this, but I assure you that will be either a meta tryhard festival with the most abusable units, or simply dead on arrival. Difficult to recommend since is not a proper Metal Slug. But as someone like me who was raised along with the franchise, is worth having arround and play every now and then. Having played Metal Slug Defense years ago and not much of Attack for obvious reasons, this version is good. So far I haven’t seen any micro transactions, this is no buy with real cash anti-features I see so far. You can’t outright buy troops like in Defense (in-game points) but that might unlock at a later level, so far it’s random what you get Great game, but it will rapidly become difficult as you go on. It feels like every level requires you to completely change your troop layout in order to succeed.
