Are you ready to delve into your deepest nightmares? Sometimes, memories and fears can manifest in, let’s say, very colourful and dangerous ways. An Everyday Story was born with a simple idea: create a simple platform where the main protagonists were made of different materials like glass, wood or metal and have to face challenges tied to their fragility. It didn’t have a story at the beginning! Then we started building up the studio, worked hard on alpha and got out there doing our best to create a simple yet functional game fueled by our passion and love for the medium. Is the final game a masterpiece? I don’t think so, but I’m 100% sure we did our best and I genuinely think it can resonate with the player. Surely it has some bugs we are trying to fix and Unity is not very helpful, to be honest, but I can guarantee we are fully committed to giving you the best experience possible.
An Everyday Story Direct-Play:
Gameplay: it’s simple and that’s what we wanted from the start. There are no unique mechanics but we designed each level to feel a little bit different from the previous one, mixing up situations, characters and foolishness. Story: we depicted an everyday story filled with everyday actions, people and emotions. Is it more like An Everyday Sadness rather than Story? Just a little because indie developer, you know, but we also wanted to portray the concept of love in all of his forms. Aesthetic: for months I had the feeling that the game looked more like something made in 3D rather than a videogame. This was until people around me started praising the aesthetic of the game and I’ve to admit I like the final result. Music: this is the thing I’m most proud off. I’m made by 80% music and poured all my passion into the game. A big shoutout to our magnificent composer Rodrigo.
