This was also my first time trying the new combat system as I didn’t play 2K22. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it feels more realistic and fun with more than one reversal type and the added combos. On the other, I feel pretty helpless when I lose the upper hand for even a second as there’s no way for me to tell how to counter my opponent except for mashing the buttons, hoping they hit the move I’m trying to counter. that’s just the way it is with AEW being as big as it is these days. And the main pro of Cena’s showcase is a list of unique and cool unlockables, but it still doesn’t justify how mediocre the overall showcase experience was.
