You’re alone in a room with a bomb. Your friends, the “Experts”, have the manual needed to defuse it. But there’s a catch: the Experts can’t see the bomb, so everyone will need to talk it out – fast! Put your puzzle-solving and communication skills to the test as you and your friends race to defuse bombs while attempting to communicate quickly before time runs out! Rounds are fast-paced, tense, occasionally silly, and almost always loud. Whether it’s defusing a bomb or deciphering information from the manual, everyone has a crucial role to play. first but gave it a chance and actually finished it.
Now I’m playing a second time because just like Oxenfree, I wanted to see what other decisions I could’ve make to bear different results. Despite being in Hell and trying to outdrink Satan, it has a good moral story about friendship. Milo and Lola were strangers to me at first, but as time went on pieces of their lives were unveiled, and I realise how these two are inseparable but also sometimes to their detriment. I came to understand and love their friendship by the end of the game. Love the drinking mechanic, different drinks, different dialogue effects, that’s genius. Also I can’t stop admiring the visuals, the colours.
I just finished the game and I had fun so I recommend it, but I think it’s not for everyone. The atmosphere is great, the characters are funny and relatable, the situations are entertaining, the minigames for drinking and partying are fun and the lenght is ok for the price (7 hours for me). But if you aren’t into visual novels style stories and you dislike walking a lot while characters talk and vent to you, it’s not for you. It lacks a bit of gameplay in those moments but compensates with its good sides. Maybe with a bigger budget they could improve these segments, like in a sequel. I’d play it!
