It also has a rather strange saving system where you can only save at the start of the month. There is also a lot of RNG to combat, especially in the final dungeon where your daughter and her companions can just get stunned to death or instantly gibbed by certain enemies.

But, everything else is basically positive. When I played the game I have truly felt not just for my daughter Sylvie, but also for her father Fin (me) and all of the people of the Volcano Country. Where Princess Maker games kinda fail is secondary and Volcano Princess truly shines here. I will probably remember some of the people here forever, honestly. This has to be the best of the genre at this point. I played through the three main routes, and it seems like it would still take another to get exposure to all of the activities/features. There is a ridiculous attention to detail in this game. From subtle changes to the backdrops based on season and choices you make, down to the fact that every says something different every in-game day, everything shows the heart that went into this game. Sure, the translation is abysmal and there are items that seem to have been for an unimplemented crafting system.
