I’ve seen other reviews try to sum up what the game is about, or to give their own perspective. Some agree with Her, that this is about Trust. Others believe in Him and believe this is about Risk. Choose to arm yourself with either words, or blades, and find a truth worthy of You. The true beauty of Slay the Princess is that it really holds up a mirror to the true you. I did not expect to fall in love with this game as much as I did. On paper, it’s a pretty straightforward horror-ish visual novel with a killer black-and-white art style. However, after about an hour, the game reveals its hand and the true nature of what’s going on puts a new perspective on what you are being asked to do repeatedly – enter the cabin in the woods, and slay the princess that’s chained up inside before she can destroy the world.
